Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups ice cubes
  • ½ cup fresh lime juice about 2 limes
  • ¼ cup simple syrup adjust to taste
  • ¼ cup tequila silver or blanco
  • 1 pinch salt optional, for rimming glass

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Add the ice cubes to the blender, creating a mound that fills the container.
  2. Pour in the freshly squeezed lime juice, ensuring it's measured accurately for the right balance of tanginess.
  3. Pour the simple syrup into the blender; this adds just the right amount of sweetness to balance the tart citrus.
  4. Drizzle in the tequila, which will give the drink its signature kick and boozy chill.
  5. Screw on the lid tightly and blend on high until the mixture is smooth, thick, and icy, with no large ice chunks remaining.
  6. Stop the blender and check the texture; it should be a thick, uniform slush that holds its shape when scooped.
  7. If desired, rim your glasses with salt by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into a small dish of salt.
    1 ½ cups ice cubes
  8. Pour the frozen margarita slushie into prepared glasses, ensuring an icy, inviting serve.
  9. Garnish with lime wedges or slices for an extra splash of color and citrus aroma.
    1 ½ cups ice cubes

Notes

For a smoother texture, blend longer or add a little water if mixture is too thick. Adjust sweetness with more or less simple syrup to taste. Serve immediately for the best icy experience.
